Winchester Man ID'd As Victim Killed In Mojave Desert Crash

The fatal crash was reported at mile marker 27 on Interstate 40, according to the coroner.

NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA — The identity of a Winchester man, who was killed in a Mojave Desert traffic collision over the long Thanksgiving weekend, was released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner.

Ronald Matson, 60, was pronounced dead at the crash scene on Interstate 40 in Newberry Springs, the coroner reported. The crash occurred around 2 p.m. November 27 at mile marker 27 on I-40, according to the coroner.
