Coroner IDs Woman Killed Crossing Murrieta Hot Springs At Winchester, Saturday
A 54-year-old Orange County woman was struck by a big rig while crossing the street at Winchester and Murrieta Hot Springs roads.

MURRIETA, CA— A 54-year-old Orange County woman was struck and killed by a big rig in a Southwest Riverside County crosswalk over the weekend, though the incident remained under investigation Monday morning, officials said.
The crash occurred Saturday just before 4 p.m. in unincorporated area, just east of Murrieta and north of Temecula, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Investigators said that Robin Kropp of Lake Forest was in a marked crosswalk when struck. She died at the scene.

The 44-year-old big rig driver from Selma, California, was navigating a right turn from westbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road to northbound Winchester Road on a green light when Kropp stepped into the marked crosswalk on Winchester Road and was hit, investigators said.
She was knocked down by the right front end of the truck and run over by the right rear wheels, causing fatal injuries, according to the CHP.

The truck driver remained at the location. No arrests were made, and the CHP was still investing the crash as of this report.
