Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Murrieta Hot Springs Road Crash
The fatal crash was reported Tuesday afternoon on eastbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road, just east of Winchester Road.

MURRIETA, CA — A 48-year-old Murrieta woman died Tuesday afternoon after crashing her car into a bridge abutment on Murrieta Hot Springs Road. She was not wearing a safety belt, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman, identified by the coroner's bureau as Allison Brighton, was heading east on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, just east of Winchester Road, around 2:35 p.m. in a 2016 Kia Forte. Witnesses told the CHP that she was driving at approximately 20-30 mph when she veered right onto the sidewalk and into the abutment, according to CHP Officer Mike Lassig.
Brighton was pronounced dead at the scene and no other injuries were reported. She was the only one in the car.
