2 Storm Systems To Bring 'Abnormal' Rain To Bay Area: NWS
Here's how much rain forecasters expect to fall across the Bay Area this week.
BAY AREA, CA — Two storm systems are expected to bring rain to the Bay Area this week, the National Weather Service said.
A cold front is forecasted to bring light rain early Monday evening, first to the North Bay then reaching the rest of the Bay Area overnight and early Tuesday morning.
Forecasters expect up to a quarter-inch of rain from the first system.

"The front will dissipate over the region with little or no rain for the South Bay and Central Coast," the weather service said.
The second, more powerful system is forecast to arrive Wednesday afternoon, bringing more rain first to the North Bay. The stronger front will drop Thursday over the Bay Area with periods of rain ending by early Friday, forecasters said.

Rainfall totals from the second system are expected to range from a half-inch to an inch.
“It’s pretty abnormal from a meteorological standpoint to see heavy rain totals this time of year considering we’ve had so little rain this year, but we’re happy about it,” NWS Meteorologist Sarah McCorkle said.
“The second system definitely has stronger dynamics associated with it,” McCorkle said.
This weekend, Bay Area residents can look forward to drier, milder weather.
