American Canyon Announces Veterans Day Ceremony
The Nov. 11 American Canyon event will honor all U.S. Armed Forces.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA — The community of American Canyon will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 11, at the American Canyon Middle School Gymnasium, 100 Benton Way in American Canyon.
Veterans Day occurs on November 11 every year in honor of the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918, which signaled the end of World War I.

The ceremony will feature a keynote address from U.S. Navy Commander Hermie Sunga, Retired Supply Corps; local artist & student performances, Veterans Service organization booths, and refreshments. The ceremony is a partnership of the American Canyon Troop Support (ACTS), Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1123 (VFW), and the American Canyon Lions Club.

- Welcome by US Army Sgt Jeremy Profitt, Retired
- Presentation of Colors by American Canyon US Army Recruiting Station
- National Anthem by American Canyon High School's Public Display of Acapella (PDA)
- Pledge of Allegiance by Canyon Oaks Elementary School Students
- Invocation by Pastor Flint Christensen, American Canyon Community Church
- Proclamation by Mayor Leon Garcia
- Keynote address by Guest Speaker Hermie R. Sunga, Retired Commander, Supply Corps, US Naval Reserve
- ACTS & American Canyon Arts Foundation Art Contest Winner Announcement
- Refreshments provided by Fran Lemos, American Canyon Community Church, Starbucks, and Lions Club of American Canyon
