NAPA COUNTY, CA — Two road rage shootings in separate counties and a homicide were attributed to a man arrested Friday by Napa County Sheriff's deputies.
Coleman Guy Rocheleau, 38, of Kelseyville, was booked into the Hill Road Correctional Facility on charges related to murder and torture, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said Saturday on social media.
Rocheleau was taken into custody after a woman called 911 about 10:45 a.m. Friday to say she had been shot in the face during a road rage incident in the 1000 block of Dunaweal Lane in Calistoga, Napa sheriff's spokesman Henry Woffard said. Her condition Saturday was not known.
Acting on the woman's description of the shooter's vehicle, detectives checked automated license plate cameras and located a matching vehicle on state Highway 29 south of Zinfandel Lane in St. Helena, Woffard said.
Napa deputies attempted to pull over the driver, but a chase ensued into the City of Napa. Using a maneuver known as a Precision Immobilization Technique, the deputies forced the driver to lose control at Highway 29 and Wine Country Avenue and arrested him, Woffard said.
Lake County authorities notified Napa County that they had been looking for a similar suspect involved in a road rage shooting about 8:30 a.m. in the area of Highway 29 and Point Lakeview Road in Kelseyville Riviera.
Under questioning by Napa deputies, Rocheleau said a third shooting victim might be located in Lake County, according to Woffard.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said detectives were dispatched to a residence in the 10000 block of Terrace Way in Kelseyville Riviera, where a woman was found dead.
The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of her next of kin, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said.
Anyone with information related to the investigation was encouraged to contact Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeffrey Mora at (707) 262-4224 or Jeffrey.Mora@lakecountyca.gov.
