NAPA VALLEY, CA — A Napa man suspected of having child sexual abuse material was arrested this week on multiple felony charges after a month-long investigation.
Detectives identified the suspect as Oscar Barrera Mendoza, 36.
On June 24, detectives arrested Mendoza at his workplace and simultaneously served a search warrant at his home on Bellevue Avenue in Napa.
The Napa County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau said it received the cyber tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force about a month earlier.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Mendoza was released from state prison earlier this year and is currently on state parole following a felony conviction for communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
Investigators booked Mendoza into the Napa County Department of Corrections on charges of communicating with a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, sending harmful matter to a minor with intent to seduce, possessing child sexual abuse material, and violating parole.
Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Napa County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau.
