NAPA VALLEY, CA — Police are warning residents about a recent increase in fraud activity and scams that target personal information and money.
American Canyon police said that law enforcement officers will never call and instruct someone to send money to resolve a legal matter or any other issue. Anyone who receives a call like this should hang up immediately and report it.
Police said common scams currently circulating include grandparent scams, government imposter scams, tech support scams, romance scams, charity scams, lottery and sweepstakes scams, investment scams, home repair scams, phishing scams, and utility scams.
