1. DiMaggio assumes Napa flood district helm amid flood wall work (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa's long-running river flood control project is entering a crucial phase as new manager C.J. DiMaggio takes over the county Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Crews are building controversial flood walls along the west side of the Napa River and planning a Riverside Drive barrier, while the multi-decade Napa River–Napa Creek Flood Protection Project moves into its final stages.

Police: Three arrested after $1,000 of Lego sets stolen in Napa (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa police and sheriff's deputies recently arrested three men after more than $1,000 in Lego sets were stolen from the Target in north Napa, with all merchandise recovered. The suspects, identified in Napa County court filings, face grand theft and related charges and remain in Napa County jail with court dates set for September.

4. Leaders demand release of funds for sinking North Bay highway (nbcbayarea.com) — Highway 37, a key route for many Napa County commuters, could soon see $100 million in long-delayed safety and congestion upgrades if state transportation officials release funds this week. Local leaders, including Napa County Supervisor Belia Ramos, argue the project will cut brutal commute times while adding climate-resilient features and preserving sensitive wetlands.
