Liz Alessio's 6th Annual Harvest Hoedown Raises More Than $260,000 for Cope Family Center

Napa County Board Supervisor Liz Alessio's 6th Annual Harvest Hoedown raised more than $260,000 for Cope Family Center on Saturday, August 8, at Burgess Cellars, marking one of the most successful nights in the event's history and providing critical support for child abuse prevention services across Napa County.

The evening brought together guests, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for a night of country-themed celebration in support of Cope's mission. Music from mother-daughter duo Bugambilia and Nashville powerhouse Morgan Myles set the tone, while guests enjoyed mouth-watering barbecue, saloon-inspired cocktails, and line dancing under the stars. A lively auction capped off a night defined by generosity.

Supervisor Alessio selected Cope Family Center as this year's beneficiary in recognition of the organization's decades-long commitment to Napa County families.

"Every child deserves a safe, stable, and nurturing childhood, but when families face overwhelming challenges, parents need support, not judgment," said Supervisor Alessio. "By helping families before they reach a crisis, we can prevent child abuse, strengthen relationships, and give children the opportunity to thrive. That's exactly the work Cope Family Center does every day in our community, and it's why I chose them as this year's beneficiary."

Jeni Olsen, Executive Director of Cope Family Center, expressed deep gratitude for the evening's outpouring of support.

"We are overwhelmed with gratitude for Supervisor Alessio, our sponsors, and every guest who joined us at Burgess Cellars," said Olsen. "The most effective way to protect a child is to support a family before life becomes unbearable, and that's what this generosity makes possible: home visits during the fragile early years of a child's life, parenting classes that build stronger relationships, and emergency resources for families facing difficult moments. This kind of support is prevention, plain and simple."

Cope extends their sincere thanks to host Burgess Cellars and to this year's generous sponsors: NorthBay Health, Pacific Gas and Electric Corporation, Bob and Kari Barbarick, Dodd Family Foundation, MCE, Bank of Marin, The Doctors Company, Napa Valley Petroleum, and The Travel Addiction Agency. Special thanks go to Olivia and Rob Stobo for their generous support of the Fund-a-Family appeal. Their support, together with the generosity of guests and auction bidders, made the evening's results possible.

Funds raised through the Harvest Hoedown will directly support Cope's core programs, including the Family Support Hub, Parenting Classes, Home Visiting, and Advocacy and Civic Engagement services. In 2025 alone, Cope served nearly 1,600 parents raising more than 2,000 children and provided almost $35,000 in emergency support for families struggling with food insecurity. Proceeds from this year's event will help sustain and expand that reach, ensuring more Napa County families have access to the resources, education, and support they need to build safe, stable, and nurturing homes.

"The generosity we saw at the Harvest Hoedown is upstream prevention," said Olsen. "It means every parent has a place to turn for compassionate support, every child has the foundation of safety they need to thrive, and every family has what it needs to break generational cycles.
