Calistoga Seeks Longer Fairgrounds Deals For Revival (patch.com) — Local readers following Napa County Fairgrounds' future will see Calistoga pushing to double the maximum length of operating agreements from 25 to 50 years, arguing longer terms could attract serious investment. City leaders are quietly negotiating with Napa County while drafting formal requests for proposals to run the golf course and Speedway, aiming to set up a long-term revitalization of this key Napa Valley property.
2. Napa Supervisor Blasts CA Wildfire Resilience Funding Cuts (patch.com) — Napa County Supervisor Anne Cottrell is urging state lawmakers to restore and expand wildfire resilience funding, citing the Picket Fire's heavy agricultural damage and lingering watershed risks in Napa Valley. Napa Police: Man threatens officers; replica gun found (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa police recently arrested a 37-year-old local resident after a tense standoff at a home on Silverado Trail, where officers were serving an arrest warrant tied to a restraining order. Officers say they rescued a protected woman from the residence and later found a replica firearm and suspected drug paraphernalia. The man is being held in Napa County jail after pleading not guilty to multiple charges.
5. Silverado Middle School earns 2026 America's Healthiest Schools honor (napavalleyregister.com) — Silverado Middle School in Napa has been named one of America's Healthiest Schools for 2026, recognizing its work on nutrition, social-emotional support, tobacco-free policies and family engagement. Principal Anne Vallerga and NVUSD leaders highlight a whole-child approach, while recent Measure B-funded campus upgrades, including a new parking lot and redesigned quad, aim to further improve daily life for students and families.
