Today's riddle: Why did the burglar wear blue gloves? π€ (Answer below!)
β’ Measles Study Finds Low Vaccination Hotspots In Napa County (patch.com) β Napa County is flagged in a new Kaiser Permanente study as part of a measles vaccination hotspot where coverage has dipped just below the herd immunity threshold. Researchers say this leaves local children more vulnerable as California measles cases climb, and Napa has already seen its first resident case since 2012 plus virus detections in city wastewater. Health officials urge families to review measles-mumps-rubella vaccinations, especially for young children and international travelers.

β’ Napa LAFCO head placed on administrative leave (napavalleyregister.com) β Napa residents should know that the executive officer of Napa County's powerful LAFCO, which controls city annexations and service expansions, has been placed on administrative leave for undisclosed reasons. The commission, chaired by Napa City Councilmember Beth Painter, recently weighed in on American Canyon annexations and rejected expanding Napa Sanitation District's reach near Skyline Wilderness Park, with its next meeting set for Oct. 5.

β’ Wineries are offering bingo, picnics, jewelry β¦ and sometimes wine (pressdemocrat.com) β Napa Valley wineries, including Turnbull, Laird Family Estate, and PlumpJack properties, are adding lobster picnics, Pilates, movie nights, and even mocktail flights to entice visitors as wine sales slump. For Napa-area residents and visitors, that means pricier tastings but more varied, family-friendly experiences, with some midweek deals and creative off-site events aimed at keeping local wineries thriving.
