NAPA VALLEY, CA — Residents in parts of Napa County should be prepared to evacuate if necessary amid a fire that broke out late this morning but has quickly spread.
Napa County officials issued an evacuation warning at 11:45 a.m. today as the Steele Fire burns near the 9400 block of Steele Canyon Road.
The evacuation warning covers zone BER-E008, east of Steele Canyon Road, west of Wragg Canyon Road, and north of Highway 128.
The vegetation fire started around 10 a.m., according to CAL FIRE. It has engulfed roughly 70 acres as of 11:16 a.m.
Napa County officials urged residents in the warning zone to stay vigilant and prepare to evacuate if needed.
