NAPA VALLEY, CA — American Canyon police arrested a Menlo Park man Friday after officers found a handgun believed to have been used during an Oakland road rage incident earlier that morning.
Police received information Friday morning that a white Ford SUV associated with the Oakland incident may have traveled to American Canyon.
The incident was captured on video in Oakland.
Just before 11 a.m., American Canyon police found the vehicle and suspected driver on Alta Loma Drive. The man was standing near the SUV when officers stopped him.
Police found a Kimber 9mm handgun suspected to have been used during the road rage incident. They also found a loaded magazine and a bag containing rifle ammunition in the vehicle's back seat.
Police identified the suspect as Darren Iler, 59, of Menlo Park. Police said Iler is prohibited from possessing or owning firearms or ammunition.
Police arrested Iler and booked him into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
