Flood control officials say the project is vital to protect hundreds of homes and are seeking community input on wall design, trail access, and possible Riverside Drive greenway features.

California doubles funding for year-round farmworker housing in Napa County (pressdemocrat.com) ā State lawmakers have just doubled annual matching funds for Napa County's yearāround farmworker housing centers to $500,000, helping stabilize affordable lodging for local agricultural workers. The new law, building on earlier support for the Napa County Housing Authority, aims to close funding gaps caused by rising operating costs while sustaining the workforce behind the valley's wine economy.

Spare the Air alerts over weekend in Napa County, Bay Area (napavalleyregister.com) ā Napa residents should prepare for a hot, smoggy weekend, with Spare the Air alerts in effect and highs around 94 degrees Saturday and Sunday, then 92 on Monday. Officials urge people, especially children, seniors, and those with heart or lung conditions, to limit outdoor activity to early mornings when ozone levels are lower.

The 49-year-old Napa winery facing rare foreclosure lives another day (sfchronicle.com) ā A longtime Napa winery, Signorello Estate, narrowly avoided foreclosure Friday when its public auction at the Napa County courthouse was postponed two weeks at the lender's request. The 49-year-old winery, rebuilt after the 2017 Atlas Fire and now burdened by heavy debt and rising interest rates, will keep operating while the owner meets with American AgCredit to discuss its future.
