NAPA COUNTY, CA — A Red Flag Warning is set to take effect Thursday night in Napa County's interior mountains as gusty northerly winds and very dry conditions increase fire danger.

The National Weather Service in San Francisco issued the warning from 10 p.m. Thursday through 11 a.m. Friday for the North Bay Interior Mountains.

A Red Flag Warning means weather conditions could increase the risk of fire, particularly when low humidity, dry vegetation and strong winds occur together. Residents are urged to follow local fire department instructions and be prepared to act if a fire develops.

PG&E Warns Of Possible Power Shutoffs

PG&E said Wednesday that about 88,000 customers across 29 counties could be affected by planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs as weather forecasts evolve. The utility had initially estimated Tuesday that 70,000 customers could be affected, then expanded the potential shutoff area to include about 25,000 additional customers while removing roughly 7,300 others.

The National Weather Service has also issued Red Flag Warnings for parts of Northern California, including the Sierra Nevada and nearby foothills. The East Bay hills are also facing elevated fire danger.

PG&E plans to open more than 40 Community Resource Centers across 23 counties to help residents during outages. The centers are expected to offer device charging, Wi-Fi, water, snacks, blankets, accessible restrooms, medical device support and updates about power shutoffs. Service animals are welcome.

Residents can find locations through PG&E's Community Resource Center webpage.

People who need help preparing for an outage can call 211, text "PSPS" to 211 or visit 211.org for resources before, during and after a power shutoff.
