BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF NAPA VALLEY ANNOUNCES ANNUAL GALA EVENT HONORED GUEST

Annual Gala Event Guest Martin Wong of Napa Is In The Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame

Napa, CA – Don your big, beautiful hats and put on those seersucker suits! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley will host its annual Kentucky Derby Gala on Saturday, May 21, at 5 p.m. at the Silverado Resort & Spa. This annual event benefits thousands of youth in the Napa Valley and includes a hosted cocktail reception, three-course dinner, live and silent auctions, a horse race raffle and dancing to live music by the band Notorious.

This year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley is proud to announce that Martin Wong will be in attendance as an honored guest. Mr. Wong is a renowned tie designer and investment professional specializing in real-estate development projects in Napa and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. He is also in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame, and is a long-time supporter of his alma mater, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, as well as the national Boys & Girls Clubs organization.

“It’s always been important to me to support the Boys & Girls Clubs; I grew up in Napa Valley attending the local club, where I learned teamwork and how to push myself as an individual,” said Wong. “It’s great to have this opportunity to give back to an organization that gave so much to me.”

“We’re thrilled Marty will be joining us at this exciting event,” said Mark Kuhnhausen, Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley Executive Director. “Each year, it’s a great time with the whole Kentucky Derby theme, but we always keep in mind our real reason for being there – the kids of Napa and American Canyon. Every day, 1,200 kids and teens come to our Clubs seeking guidance with school, to be safe, and to have fun with peers. While here, they participate in educational programs, exercise and sports, and enjoy the arts. Marty experienced this first-hand when he was a boy, and he’s never forgotten the positive impact it had on him. It will add another layer of meaning to this event to have him there.”

The event also features wine stations by the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley vintners. Event sponsors include Advantage Capital Partners, Bank of Napa, Bank of Marin, C-Line Express, Jay Siegan Presents’ Notorious, Mechanics Bank, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Napa Recycling & Waste Services, Napa Wooden Box Co., RSA+, Vintage Wealth Advisors, and ZD Wines.

Tickets and sponsorship tables are still available for the Gala. If you’d like to purchase tickets online, please visit www.thepositiveplace.org and click on “Events.” The direct link is here:
