Boys & Girls Clubs Of Napa Valley Raising Funds For New Clubhouse

This Giving Tuesday, the community's help is sought to fund the new Napa Valley Vintners Clubhouse in American Canyon.

From the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley is asking the community to help reach their fundraising goal for the new Napa Valley Vintners Clubhouse in American Canyon this Giving Tuesday. The 15,000 square foot Clubhouse, is expected to serve 250-300 children each day, will feature areas dedicated to early childhood education, teens, technology and general education. The clubhouse will benefit not only American Canyon youngsters, but the entire community as it will have a kitchen and meeting space available for public use. The Boys & Girls Clubs anticipates that construction will be completed in the spring of 2018.

"As a resident of American Canyon, our family is committed to supporting the new American Canyon Club House for the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley. It takes a whole village to lift up this important project that will impact hundreds of kid’s lives and future generations to come. This new Club House will serve many other community-related groups. We'll need contributions from this community to finish the fundraising. Every dollar counts! No donations are too small. When our kids win, we all win." commented American Canyon Realtor and Community Leader, Kasama Lee.

Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for purposes of hashtag activism, refers to the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the holiday season.

Speaking on the project’s importance to American Canyon Dr. Jeffrey Nichelini, American Canyon Orthodontics remarked, "Giving the kids of American Canyon a great place to go after school helps make American Canyon a great place to live. The kids get a safe nurturing environment to grow, learn, and play; while parents get the peace of mind their kids are in good hands. It’s a winning situation for everybody."

The new facility in American Canyon is being built on the existing Clubhouse site, which is ideally situated on Community Park II and strategically located near American Canyon Middle School, Donaldson Way Elementary School, and the Parks & Recreation Aquatic Center and Gym. The fundraising effort is currently 84% to its $5.8 million dollar goal that was kicked off with a donation from The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit trade association who pledged $2 million from Auction Napa Valley proceeds to seed the project.
