Brian Teare: "A Song in the Theater of Reason: Lyric Thinking"
Brian Teare will give a lecture on the art and craft of poetry as part of the Napa Valley Writers' Conference.

A 2015 Pew Fellow in the Arts, Brian Teare is the recipient of poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the MacDowell Colony, the Headlands Center for the Arts, the Fund for Poetry, and the American Antiquarian Society. He is the author of four critically acclaimed books — The Room Where I Was Born, Sight Map, the Lambda Award-winning Pleasure, and Companion Grasses, a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Award. His fifth book is The Empty Form Goes All the Way to Heaven (Ahsahta, 2015).
Lecture tickets cost $25 per person and may be purchased by cash or check at the door. Or attend all eight conference lectures for a fee of $175, or just the poetry or fiction series (four lectures) for $90.
Students with valid ID are admitted for $15 per lecture. Napa Valley Writers' Conference attendees, supporters, and community housing hosts are admitted for free.
