Brush Fire Burns 10 Acres Near Hwy 221 in Napa

Containment at 60 percent as of Thursday evening, officials said.

NAPA COUNTY, CA – A vegetation fire near Highway 221 in Napa burned roughly 10 acres and was at 60 percent containment Thursday evening, according to CAL FIRE/ Napa County Fire.

Smoke was visible earlier in the afternoon from the blaze, near the rock and gravel company Syar Industries Inc.

At approximately 5 p.m., the Napa County Sheriff's Office stated: "Great progress made on fire, Highway 221 near Syar. Smoke has dissipated. Please use caution as firefighters remain on scene."

Assisting in battling the blaze were the Napa City Fire Department, American Canyon Fire Protection District, Napa State Hospital Fire, Cal Fire Riverside County and Lassen Modoc Fire crews, according to officials.
