Car Chainsawed Out Of Vineyard On Silverado Trail

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Emergency crews rescued one person after a vehicle drove off the Silverado Trail and crashed into dense vegetation in a vineyard area today.

CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol were on the scene as crews used chainsaws and other equipment to cut back heavy vegetation, allowing crews to reach the vehicle and prepare it for removal from the vineyard. The St. Helena Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Paramedics transported one motorist by ambulance to a local hospital.

Authorities did not immediately release information about the patient's condition or the cause of the crash.

However, they attributed the crash to summer temperatures climbing and traffic increasing across Napa Valley and said drivers should avoid driving while fatigued, noting that a short break can help prevent a serious collision.
