Chef Rodney Worth to Open The Pear in Napa Dec. 11
The wait will soon be over for those eager to savor East Bay chef Rodney Worth's Southern-style cuisine at the former site of Tyler Florence's Rotisserie & Wine at the Riverfront in downtown Napa.
It's been more than 11 months since television chef , on the day after Christmas 2011.
But the wait is almost over for those who have been hungering for the eatery's new proprietor, East Bay chef-restaurateur Rodney Worth, to reopen it as a "Southern Bistro" called The Pear.
The Pear is slated to open for business Dec. 11, according to a spokesman for Worth.

A press release issued earlier this year, when Worth's takeover of the former Florence spot was announced, describes his plans:
“Wait until you taste my ‘Chicken and Waffles.’ It’ll be the best you’ve ever had,” said Worth. The dish features a boneless, skinless breaded fried chicken breast, over a bacon-spiked Belgian waffle, and is topped with a pear-bourbon maple syrup.

Opening in Napa is the next big step in his culinary career. Earlier in 2012, Worth was named one of the “Top 50 Chefs” in the Bay Area by www.Chef2Chef.net.
“I get goose bumps when you mention Napa,” said Worth, “I love Napa – the food, the restaurants, the wine and the people! I spend a lot of time here, it only makes sense to be opening a restaurant in Napa,” Worth added.
“The Pear” will feature contemporary American comfort food with a twist. Worth will put his signature touches on Southern classics including; Macaroni and Cheese, Shrimp and Grits, Rotisserie Chicken, Collard Greens, and Chicken and Dumplings (photo attached).
“We’re going to do elegant Soul Food!” Worth said.
