Conceptual Art Experience at Studio #42 – The Cave for Wishes and Dreams

By NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls

Studio #42,
with NVOS artists Carolynne Gamble, Davina Rubin, and Wyn Ericson, also features a surprise – the Cave for Wishes and Dreams and Releasing Regrets.

In keeping with the meditative focus of her mandala artwork, Carolynne created the cave – and garden space outside it – as a healing experience. Inside the cave are candles and twinkling lights – and an opportunity for releasing regrets. Outside the cave is a garden space, where one can plant "seeds for the future."

Inside the cave, visitors are invited to write down things they would like to release: regrets, mistakes, harsh words – anything they would like to let go of.

Then they toss the paper in a pile of papers, take some seeds, and plant them in the garden for a "harvest of happiness."

Carolynne reports that everyone loved the experience, especially the children.

You'll find Studio #42, and the Cave for Wishes and Dreams and Releasing Regrets, at 1807 Crinella Drive, in St. Helena, California, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 28th and 29th, the final weekend of Napa Valley Open Studios 2013.

NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls writes for this blog and works on this website and paints, paints, paints. You can visit her at Studio #48 during Napa Valley Open Studios, and see her paintings online at:www.KarenLynnIngalls.com.
