Conn Creek Bridge Replacement: Upcoming Road, Lane Closures

Conn Creek Road/SR-128 will be closed, and one-way traffic control will be in effect on Silverado Trail, according to Caltrans.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Conn Creek Road will be closed Wednesday night and again Monday night between Silverado Trail and Skellenger Lane to accommodate work on the Conn Creek Bridge replacement, according to Caltrans. Workers will be installing girders — large support beams — as part of the first of two phases of construction on the replacement bridge, said Caltrans District 4 Spokeswoman Janis Mara.

One lane of SR-128/Silverado Trail will also be closed between Conn Creek Road and Sage Canyon Road.

"The project is necessary because of wear and tear on the existing bridge's foundation from the creek's current," Mara said. "The new bridge will be wider to accommodate trucks turning right from eastbound SR-128 (Conn Creek Road) onto Silverado Trail."

The road and lane closures are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Monday, Dec. 9, and will take place as follows:

  • From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., SR-128/Conn Creek Road will be closed between Silverado Trail and Skellenger Lane. Traffic will be detoured to Silverado Trail via Skellenger Lane. Local traffic only will be allowed to travel between Skellenger Lane and 8960 Conn Creek Road.
  • From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., one lane of SR-128/Silverado Trail will be closed between Conn Creek Road and Sage Canyon Road. One-way reversing traffic control with flaggers will be in effect.

"Flaggers will direct motorists during temporary lane or highway closures (5-10 minutes)," Mara said. "Motorists should expect delays."
