Crash Knocks Out Power On Jefferson Street In Napa

A pickup truck hit a power pole on the roadway, causing a power outage for an extended timeframe, police said.

NAPA, CA — A pickup truck crashed into a power pole Wednesday on Jefferson Street in Napa, knocking out power and closing down the roadway, police said.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday between Pueblo Avenue and Sheridan Drive.

Around 2 p.m., the Napa Police Department issued a traffic advisory. Police asked the public to avoid the roadway and said it would remain closed until PG&E could complete repairs to the power pole.

"Power will be out in the area for an extended timeframe," police said.

As of 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, electricity was still out to about 14 customers along Jefferson Street near the site of the crash, according to PG&E's website. PG&E estimated power would be fully restored by 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police said northbound Jefferson would be reopened once it was safe for the public and emergency workers.

As for the driver, police said they suffered minor injuries and were expected to recover.

Police did not suspect that drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
