Crews Fought Two Wildfires In Napa, Sonoma County

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Authorities closed down the Silverado Trail near Highway 28 in Napa Valley and ordered evacuations in Sonoma County as crews fought back two wildfires on Monday.

The Napa Valley fire ignited near Hardin and Pope Canyon roads in Pope Valley, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

The Hardin Fire was reported at 2:40 p.m. and spread through dry grass before firefighters mounted an attack from the ground and air.

CAL FIRE LNU crews reported making progress on containment as they worked to strengthen fire lines.

Earlier reports estimated the fire at about 30 to 40 acres before it expanded to approximately 50 acres.

No evacuation warnings or evacuation orders were issued as of Monday afternoon in the Hardin Fire. Firefighters have not said what caused the fire.

A fire burning just east of Santa Rosa — the Ledson Fire —prompted the evacuation of hundreds of residents as firefighters worked to contain flames spreading through steep terrain.

The Ledson Fire burned near North Pythian Road in Kenwood, at the northern end of Sonoma Valley on the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, just west of the Sonoma-Napa county line.
