CTS Fitness & Performance Hosts Successful Charity Workout

Raises $3,376 for wine country wildfire victims

Napa’s local sports performance and fitness training destination hosted another successful charity workout, this time, for those affected by the devastating Northern California wildfires in October. The money
collected from the special session was augmented by donations from an online fundraiser, which in total raised $3,376.

Napa, California (December 22, 2017) – At CTS Fitness & Performance, charity begins at the gym.

Napa’s leading sports performance and fitness training center, led byfounder John Cortese, organized another charity workout, for the victims of the Northern California wildfires, which ravaged the state in October. Around 50 members and supporters, who were each asked to donate a minimum of $5 to participate, attended the special session.

To augment the amount raised, Cortese and his team also started an online fundraiser. In the end, the fitness community’s joint efforts raised $3,376 and donated through Redwood Credit Union North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

The charity workout is not the first for CTS Fitness & Performance. In September, the team raised $1,900 in less than an hour for the survivors of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

“As I’ve said before, our community is as much about helping those inneed as it is about fitness and conditioning,” Cortese said. “Working out regularly is obviously good for the body physically, but working out
for a greater cause is just a whole new level of accomplishment for us. I am proud of my team and extremely grateful to our members for their loyalty and support.”

The Northern California firestorm was a series of 250 wildfires that started burning across the ‘wine country’ in early October. The wildfires affected Napa, Sonoma, Yuba, Butte, Lake, Mendocino and Orange Counties, among others. Earlier reports have noted that this group of wildfires is considered as the single costliest on record, as well as one of the deadliest, with over 40 people dead. According to the California Statewide Fire Summary, an estimated 8,900 structures were destroyed.

Cortese added, “We consider our team and our members as part of our extended family. Caring, within and beyond our community, is very much part of our DNA.”
