NAPA VALLEY, CA — Authorities say a distracted driver caused a late-morning crash when a black SUV veered off the road and slammed into a fully loaded parked asphalt trailer on a Napa roadway.

The impact dislodged a trailer wheel and initially prompting reports of major injuries.

The damage to both vehicles was extensive. Authorities initially reported major injuries. However, CHP spokesman Marc Renspurger later said the drivers were not seriously hurt.
