NAPA COUNTY, CA — A Vallejo woman is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol as she went the wrong way early Sunday on state Highway 29 near Middleton, causing a head-on collision that landed both she and the other driver in a hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 2:08 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 36-year-old Kayla Nicole Kim Clark was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu southbound in the No. 1 lane of northbound SR-29 at Tower Road and collided head-on with a 2019 Kia Forte sedan traveling northbound in the same lane, Napa Area CHP officials said in a news release.
Both Clark and the other driver — a 48-year-old Napa man — became trapped inside their cars and had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters with the American Canyon Fire Department, CHP officials said.
