Earthquake In Lake County Shakes North Bay, East Bay

The quake near Hidden Valley Lake was felt in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Solano and Contra Costa counties, according to the USGS. Did YOU feel it?

LAKE COUNTY, CA — A 3.5-magnitude earthquake rattled Lake County near Hidden Valley Lake Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake, reported at 7:16 a.m., struck about 7 miles down, the USGS said.

The earthquake was centered 7.5 miles southeast of Hidden Valley Lake, 27.3 miles northeast of Santa Rosa and 47.2 miles northwest of Vallejo.

Although the temblor was felt in many North Bay communities, as well as some in the East Bay, no damage was reported, according to the USGS.

Responses submitted to the USGS indicated residents in Hidden Valley Lake, Calistoga, Santa Rosa, Tiburon, Vacaville, Martinez, Angwin, Saint Helena, Middletown, Clearlake and Lower Lake experienced some shaking Friday morning.
