Earthquake Rattles Fried Nerves Near Valley Fire
The temblor struck Monday morning after the North Bay communities endured a weekend of fire devastation.

A 2.7-magnitude quake struck the North Bay near The Geysers Monday morning, according to a preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake hit the fire-ravaged area around 7:18 a.m., according to the USGS.
The earthquake rumbled through the North Bay hours after tens of thousands of residents evacuated following the rapid spread of the unrelenting Valley Fire.
Those displaced are living in tent cities at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga since the fire ballooned to 61,000 acres since it started Saturday.

No injuries have been reported due to the quake.
