DEVO

“Thirty years ago, people said that we were cynical, that we had a bad attitude,” says Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh. “But now, when you ask people if de-evolution is real, they understand that there was something to what we were saying. It’s not the kind of thing you want to see proven right, but it does make it easier to talk about.” Devo, standing for De-evolution, got their name with the idea that instead of moving on an evolving, we are actually regressing in American society. Devo began in 1973 with its band members being two sets of brother Mark, Bob, and Jim Mothersbaugh and Gerald and Bob Casales. This punk rock, new wave group has made its name through the years. And now, after a much anticipated wait, the band is back after 20 years since their last released album. Something for Everybody includes the classic line-up of the Mothersbaugh and Casales brothers joined by drummer Josh Freese, from nine inch nails and guns n' roses. The album was produced by Greg Kurstin and also includes collaborations with John Hill and Santi White.
