It's A Grand Night For Singers

January 7th IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS will be hosted, narrated and accompanied by internationally-known Broadway composer, coach and pianist Richard B. Evans who brings his marvelous talent to the Jarvis Conservatory stage.  The program will also feature soloists Melody Caspari, Mary Whitaker, Larissa Lorenz, and Rocco Ruggiero.

 

Ms. Whitaker, who is currently studying at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, will present Handel’s beloved aria “Ombra mai fu” and a song by Piccini.  Melody Caspari, a graduate in Opera Performance from California State University Long Beach, a soloist with both the San Francisco Opera and the Cinnabar Opera Theatre, and the winner of the Henry and Maria Holt Memorial Scholarship, will sing a bel canto aria by Bellini as well as a comic song from Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore.

Rocco Ruggiero, a familiar face and voice to GRAND NIGHT aficionados and a Doctor of Chiropratic in Napa, will sing two lovely early-20th-century Italian songs.  Larissa Lorenz, currently a student in the Music Department at Sonoma State university, will present Alessandro Scarlatti’s “La violette” as well as the familiar “Elle a fui” by Jacques Offenbach, the “Father of Operetta.” 

 IT’S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS continues the first Saturday of every month at 7pm at the Jarvis Conservatory located at 1711 Main Street in historic downtown Napa.  Audience tickets are $15 and available at the box office beginning at 6pm, with doors opening for General Seating at 6:30pm. Complimentary tapas and wine served at intermission.
