Puerto Rican Cuisine with Shane Valentine

Hands on Cooking; must be 21 to attend.
Napa Culinary Center is in for a real treat!  Shane Valentine, following up on his sold out breakfast class, has created a class that will truly have your mouth watering as he cranks out all of his families favorites.  These are all recipes passed down for generations.  He learned these from his grandmother when he was a little boy!  Of course, in true Puerto Rican flare we will be playing Salsa and Meringue music in the background.  We will also be serving Mojito’s and Rum and Cola’s for some added enjoyment! On the menu: Sofrito ,El Savor de la Isla – The Flavor of the Island, Sofrito is the base used in virtually all Puerto Rican cooking, similar to the mirepoix used in France, Gandules (Green Pigeon Peas) Dip, Arroz con Pollo (Chicken and Rice), Garbanzo Bean Stew, Pernil (Puerto Rican style pulled pork!), Tostones (Savory plantains), Platano Maduro (Sweet plantains) and Mojito drinks (Rum and fresh mint), Rum and Cola, Bonus: Coquito!! (Puerto Rican egg nog – just in time for the holidays).
