Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, THE BIRDS does for our fine feathered friends what PSYCHO did for showers.  As wealthy San Francisco socialite Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) rolls into Bodega Bay in pursuit of brash young lawyer Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor), she is inexplicably attacked by a seagull.  Suddenly thousands of birds are flocking into town preying on residents in a terrifying series of attacks.  Soon Mitch and Melanie are fighting for their lives against a deadly force that can't be explained.  Shot partially on location in Bodega Bay, Hitchcock pursued a variety of innovations to overcome numerous technical challenges.
