Hiking and Outings and Kids, Oh My!
Tuleyome Napa - the new Napa branch of Tuleyome created by the merger of Berryessa Trails and Conservation with Tuleyome, a regional conservation nonprofit – is having an open house this Labor Day weekend (Sept. 1 – 3) at 1210 Napa Town Center (across from the Buckhorn), 11 am – 4.00 pm.
The “Tuleyome Museum for a Day” - now extended to 3 more days - has exhibits on trails in Napa that are being built, habitat restoration projects, a chance to sign up as a volunteer, the proposed Berryessa Snow Mountain National Conservation Area, information from their online Trail Guide, nature photos, and an exhibit about the new trails to Berryessa Peak and Annie's Rock.

There is also an exhibit called “Home Place Adventures – which joins two established Tuleyome programs – Nature's Theater and the Youth Program. The first includes skits, storytelling, and entire plays about conservation issues with older children and teenagers often taking starring roles.
The second takes kids on outings, including everything from a lake kayak trip and hike to white water rafting on Cache Creek, a trip to a farm or a local park. Already up and running elsewhere, Tuleyome Napa wants to expand this program to our county. Tell us your ideas about what this program should look like here.
