Exclusive Findings from Leading Vacation Rental Website Uncovers Napa Valley is the #1 Visited Destination in the California Wine Country Region

FlipKey.com, a leading vacation rental marketplace, today unveiled its latest edition of Travel Insights highlighting  California Wine Country and revealed that Napa Valley ranked #1 as the top overall destination to visit in the area followed closely behind by Sonoma and Bodega Bay.  Additional data shows that while Napa is more popular than Sonoma overall, Sonoma takes the top spot for romantic getaways with more parties of two.

Additional findings revealed in Travel Insights show that a quarter of reservation requests are made for short two day weekend stays.  On average, travelers book their vacations for this destination 8-9 weeks out. The busiest time for Wine Country includes the first week of October, the last week of August, the second week of November and the second week in September.
