Fatal Sunday Morning Hit-And-Run Reported On Hwy 29

The accident was north of Calistoga and closed the roadway.

A hit-and-run crash that resulted in a fatality closed a portion of state Highway 29 north of Calistoga in Napa County this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report of the crash on northbound Highway 29 near Old Lawley Toll Road at 4:52 a.m.

The victim passed away at the hospital, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert was issued at 6:28 a.m. closing Highway 29 in both directions between Tubbs Lane and Robert Louis Stevenson State Park.

There was no estimated time of when the roadway will reopen.
