FORMER NAPA VICE MAYOR MARK VAN GORDER ENDORSES RYAN GREGORY FOR SUPERVISOR

Former Napa Vice Mayor, 2012 supervisor candidate latest in series of high-profile endorsements for Gregory's campaign

Mark Van Gorder, a former Napa Vice Mayor, eight-year City Council Member and Planning Commissioner who ran for 2nd District Supervisor in 2012, has endorsed Ryan Gregory for the 2nd District seat on the Board of Supervisors.

The move is the latest in a series of high-profile endorsements for Gregory’s campaign. Van Gorder joins U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena), the entire Napa City Council (Mayor Jill Techel, Vice Mayor Mary Luros, Council Member Juliana Inman, Council Member Pete Mott and Council Member Scott Sedgley), and hundreds of other residents who’ve endorsed Gregory, who is making his first bid for public office.

“Ryan Gregory will provide excellent leadership for the future of Napa County,” Van Gorder said upon announcing his endorsement of Gregory’s campaign. “Ryan has the background and experience needed to move us forward regarding housing, road repairs, water conservation and improved relations between the City and County. Ryan will focus on the needs of all District 2 residents – not just the rural areas of Napa County. He’s an avid cyclist and will work to keep family-fun as part of our Napa culture. That’s why I’m proud to support Ryan Gregory in this election,” Van Gorder added.

Gregory was excited to learn of Van Gorder’s endorsement. “I am honored to have the support of Mark Van Gorder,” Gregory said. “Mark brought many issues to the forefront in the last election, and four years later, some of these issues still need to be worked on,” Gregory added. “As your next District 2 Supervisor, I’ll ensure we take a more proactive approach to addressing our most pressing issues, just as I’ve been doing for the past two decades as a small business owner in providing housing for our residents, improving our infrastructure and addressing other critically important community issues.”

Ryan Gregory lives in the City of Napa, where he and his wife Laura are raising their two teenage daughters: Sage and Sophia. The 2nd Supervisorial District encompasses much of western Napa, including parts of Browns Valley and downtown Napa, as well as unincorporated areas west of Napa stretching to the Sonoma-Napa County line.
