NAPA, CA — Pat Burns sent in this photo of a snowy egret that he and his wife, Chaunte, got to know while they had their sailboat at the Napa Valley Marina for two years, from 2018 to 2020.

"We met several new neighbors and friends there, including this beautiful bird, which we think is a snowy egret," Pat wrote in an email to Patch. "By being very quiet and patient, this beautiful neighbor of ours would show us its fishing skills as it hunted for small minnows and frogs just a few feet from where we sat in the cockpit of our boat."

Thanks so much, Pat, for sharing such a sweet story with us!
