'Glory Hole' In All Its Glory: Photo Of The Week

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Patch reader Ritchie Nihei of El Cerrito sent in this amazing shot taken Monday of the iconic Monticello Dam Morning Glory spillway, "Glory Hole" at Lake Berryessa.

As described in the video below, the so-called "glory hole" is a pipeline used to drain the reservoir of water when it's too full — which is exactly what happened following recent atmospheric rivers of heavy rains.
