Grass Fire In Napa County Prompts Evacuation Advisory
The vegetation fire forced the closure of Capell Valley Road/state Highway 128.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A vegetation fire Wednesday afternoon prompted an evacuation advisory for a ranch southwest of Lake Berryessa in Napa County, Cal Fire said. The Capell Fire broke out about 3 p.m. and forced the closure of Capell Valley Road, fire officials said.
Firefighters stopped the forward spread of the Capell Fire before 5 p.m., according to Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit.
R Ranch, however, remained under an evacuation advisory until about 8:30 p.m. when Cal Fire announced the fire was 100-percent contained at 6 acres.

CHP dispatchers received reports of white smoke and flames seen above R Ranch, which is located at 1962 Capell Valley Road.
Napa County Office of Emergency Services said at 4:11 p.m. that state Highway 128 was closed at Capell Valley Road and Steele Canyon.

Eastbound traffic on state Highway 128 was at one point being turned around at Berryessa Knoxville Road, according to the CHP.
Capell Valley Road reopened Wednesday evening, according to Cal Fire.
