Here's How Hot It May Get In Napa Valley This Week

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Heat is expected to return to the Napa Valley and the Bay Area during the latter half of this week as high pressure builds over the region.

The hottest afternoon is likely to be on Thursday when temperatures warm to 15-25 degrees above normal and inland locations likely exceed 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Meanwhile, forecasters expect coastal areas to reach into the 80s with the possibility of a few locations approaching 90.

In the Napa Valley, the high temp Thursday is forecast to reach 88.

The short duration of this heat event and adequate overnight cooling will likely limit overall heat risks for the general population, the National Weather Service said. However, those sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration will be at risk of heat-related illnesses.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 74. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. West southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 54. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Northeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79.
