High Winds Could Cause Scattered North Bay Power Outages
A high wind watch is expected to take effect in parts of the North Bay, with gusts up to 50 mph possible, the National Weather Service said.
NORTH BAY, CA — A high wind watch for the coast, hills and mountains of the North Bay is forecast for this weekend, the National Weather service said. The high wind watch, which means there is potential for a high wind event, is expected to go into effect at 7 p.m. Saturday and continue through 4 a.m. Monday for North Bay hills and mountains, and from 4 a.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday in coastal North Bay.
Northeast winds of 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are possible in the North Bay. Winds are expected to first pass over the Bay Area Saturday night and increase again Sunday afternoon as the weather warm, according to the NWS.
"Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines," NWS SF Bay Area officials said. "Scattered power outages are possible."
