House Leader Nancy Pelosi Tours Wildfire-Ravaged CA
Nancy Pelosi will be joined by four other house representatives.
NAPA COUNTY, CA -- U.S. House Democrat Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, and other members of Congress are touring wildfire-ravaged areas of the North Bay Saturday.
The group includes Rep. Mike Thompson, who represents the city of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County, and U.S. Reps. Jared Huffman, Anna Eshoo and Zoe Lofgren, a Pelosi spokeswoman confirmed.
The elected officials visited the Vista Family Health Center in Santa Rosa around 9 a.m. and will attend an 11 a.m. memorial service. They will also go on a driving tour through Napa to survey the damage, the spokeswoman said.

The memorial service, held at Bailey Field at Santa Rosa Junior College, is part of today's Day of Remembrance.
Gov. Jerry Brown Saturday issued a proclamation declaring today a day of remembrance of the Northern California fires.

"On this Day of Remembrance, I have ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol," Gov. Brown said in a statement. "As we mourn for those we have lost, let us dedicate ourselves first to the aid of the survivors and then to the causes of safety and preparedness in our increasingly fire-prone state," the governor said.
The nearly three-week Atlas fire, which burned more than 51,000 acres and destroyed homes in Napa County and caused evacuations in west Solano County, has been fully contained, Cal Fire officials said Friday evening.
The wildfire, one of many that broke out this month in the North Bay, first began on Oct. 8 off Atlas Peak Road, south of Lake Berryessa.
According to Cal Fire, the fire burned 51,624 acres, damaged 90 structures and destroyed 481. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Other fires in the North Bay like the Tubbs, Pocket and Nuns fires continue to burn, although, Cal Fire crews are making progress. They expect to have those fires fully contained by Tuesday.
Those wildfires have collectively burned 111,000 acres in Napa and Sonoma counties, according to Cal Fire.
