Well, well well. Here we go. This guy, Kevin Durant, of the OKC Thunder, wins the NBA MVP award. Then the knucklehead stages a huge presser that includes thousands of fans, his entire team, nearly the entire staff of the franchise, his mom, his dad, his siblings, and probably a partridge in a pear tree. Crazy. Basketball is by far one of the greatest vehicles for teaching comraderie, bonding, and the premise that the whole is much more than the individual parts. Folks are making so much out of Durant's sniveling acceptance speech, and it has been in heavy, heavy rotation on the NBA Network. Why ? Let's start with what is emphasized most, his dedication to his mom. Okay. We get it, who doesn't praise their mom? We listened to the entire speech, and wonder why the big deal over his mom clothing and feeding him. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO. By the way, his dad was barely mentioned. This is subtle racism, the fact that that folks are hailing the BSM, or Black Single Mom, while marginalizing the efforts of Durant's dad. Durant never said why his family had to move so often, He never mentioned any black male adult who made him a man, and according to our sources, his biological father was one of. Liberals and neocons both, are loving this denigration of the black male, extolling the virtuals of single, female parenthood, as if it is the ideal, regardless of the consequences. They seem to imply that black men, nay, all men, are partially irrelevent when it comes to raising kids. Durant's pathetic, slobbering sermon sounded like something that would have better suited for another, more private venue. His teammates looked like elephants trying to hide behind light posts on that stage, clearly wanting to anywhere else but there. Now, we have him a few days later, being out played on the baseketball court by a guy a foot shorter than him, and he looked like he got punked. Mark my words, Kevin Durant will never hoist any championship trophy until he man's up. HRM
