Kick off the New Year with live music and local wines at RootStock

RootStock will be hosting live music from the Bonanza King Band to ring in 2015 with music, wine, and art. RootStock will continue this year with all the fun events that make it special. Once just a small gift shop with a few wineries, RootStock now has five wineries with a center for locally made wares and wine grown and produced in the surrounding areas. RootStock has always been a friend to the arts, with an Open Mic for music on the third Thursday, and a music venue for local musicians. Including a spin off of the Open Mic for poetry, with a night focused on spoken word and the special art form of poetry on the fourth Thursday. Now with the Alley Gallery exhibiting local artists, including it’s current “Small Works” exhibition, and continuing art classes this year, we have expanded to represent art in all forms.

The Bonanza King Band are an eclectic country swing band brilliantly fronted by singer Kari King will be performing on Friday Jan. 2nd, from 7-9pm. They play a wide variety of country-related music which make most people want to get up and dance. In addition to Kari, Bonanza King is Keith Carey: steel guitar, J. Cedar Seeger: electric guitar, Roger Kunkel : fiddle, Steve O’Neill: bass, and Nick Carvajal: drums. Most of the songs are written by Kari, and are inspired by her life. The Bonanza Kings influences include rag-time, old jazz, blues, and many forms of country music. BK will get your toes tapping and your hands clapping. And you may just come home with a new, old favorite song!
