Lawsuit Dismissed Against City of St. Helena

The lawsuit concerned the former Vineland Vista Mobile Home Park property.

From The City of St. Helena: On January 15, 2019, Hall Vineland, LLC and Hall Vista LLC (“Halls”) filed a complaint against the City and the City Public Works Director. The complaint asserted that the City wrongfully rescinded a December 2016 “will serve” letter for the Halls’ proposal to redevelop the former Vineland Vista Mobile Home Park at 341 St. Helena Highway South, which is just outside City limits in unincorporated Napa County.

On February 22, 2019, the City filed a motion to dismiss the Halls’ complaint. In response to the City’s motion, and prior to the hearing, the Halls dismissed their complaint. Mayor Geoff Ellsworth said: “We are pleased that the Halls have dismissed their lawsuit. We hope the Halls will in the future use their resources to comply with the City’s process for seeking proper approval for their request for City water.”
