Local Donors Give $2.4 Million in 90 Days through Napa Valley Community Foundation

Local donors distributed $2.4 million to area nonprofits through Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) between April 1 and June 30, capping off a year in which NVCF and its donors supplied nearly $3.8 million to a broad range of charitable projects in Napa Valley.

“This was a big quarter for us, and for quite a few hard-working nonprofits in our community,” said NVCF President Terence Mulligan.  “Getting this much money out the door in 90 days is a thrill, and it’s a great way to conclude an excellent fiscal year for the Foundation.”

Grants to 65 different nonprofits were made possible by nearly 150 donors, some of which have a charitable giving fund at NVCF established by their families or businesses; others of which join forces by investing in NVCF’s Community Impact Funds, where multiple givers come together to tackle larger-scale opportunities and challenges.

Among the ranks of the former are people who decided to create a fund at NVCF through their estate plan, with instructions for how charitable dollars should be distributed after they have passed away.
