Man Killed In Head-On Wreck In Unincorporated Napa County
Breaking: The victim was a 29-year-old man. Driver of the other vehicle treated at Queen of the Valley.

NAPA COUNTY, CA – A Napa man was killed in a head-on crash northeast of Napa Thursday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.
Napa County sheriff's Capt. Steve Blower identified the victim as 29-year-old Francisco Javier Cruz Matias.
Matias was driving a 1997 Honda Accord at around 7:15 p.m., heading south on Vichy Avenue at La Grande Avenue in unincorporated Napa County. A 60-year-old Napa woman was driving approaching him from the
opposite direction in a 2002 Ford Explorer, CHP Officer Marc Renspurger said.

Matias was driving at an unsafe speed and crossed over the double yellow line into the path of the Ford in the northbound lane, Renspurger said.
The doors of the Honda could not be opened and Matias was extricated from the car by Cal Fire, Blower said.

Matias, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa.
